Early Diagnosis Is Your Best Friend

Age Macular degeneration (AMD) is a common cause of irreversible vision loss in adults aged 50 or older. Macula is a part of the retina (back of the eye) that is responsible for your sharp central vision. When the macula is damaged, you lose the ability to see clearly in most aspects of your daily life such as recognising faces, reading, driving or cooking.

There are two types—dry and wet—and both can lead to reduced vision if left untreated.

Early stages of AMD often have no noticeable symptoms which is why a comprehensive eye exam using our cutting-edge technology is important for early detection. During your consultation, our optometrists will explain the risk factors, how to lower your risks as well as ways to prevent and manage AMD.
